As its name would suggest, Boat is a celebration of all things aquatic, with an emphasis on the latest and greatest products, technology and activities available to modern-day seafarers.
Watersports and recreational nautical enthusiasts should find plenty to keep them occupied at this key event, from waterskiing and fishing to racing boats and expensive yachts.
Highlights this year will include a selection of fine sailboats, such as the Bavaria 43 cruiser, the Moody 45 DS and the Bénéteau First 45.
Elsewhere, those that take a more rough and ready approach to life on the ocean waves will find plenty in the way of surfing and wakeboarding products – just a selection of what the huge show at the Messe Dusseldorf has to offer.
Also on hand will be a diving centre, ideal for trying out new equipment, as well as an exhibition of old steam boats – giving a revealing look into the maritime culture of times past.
Dusseldorf lies on the banks of the River Dussel, which flows into the Rhine, one of the major rivers in Germany.
