Holidaymakers planning Rome tours later this year will be in for some top-class entertainment when the Harlem Globetrotters visit the city.
As part of a major European tour, the famous basketball exhibition team will perform at the Palazetto dello Sport on May 4th.
A number of other European cities will feature on the Globetrotters’ tour this spring, including Innsbruck (April 28th), Zurich (May 10th), Paris (May 13th), Barcelona (May 24th) and Lisbon (May 30th).
The Harlem Globetrotters were founded in 1926 and over the past eight decades have played more than 25,000 games in front of audiences including presidents, popes and royalty.
In 2000, Globetrotter Michael ‘Wild Thing’ Wilson set a new world record when he made a successful slam dunk in a basket that stood 12 feet off the ground.
People on Rome tours who would like to experience a more European sporting spectacle can head to the Stadio Olimpico to see either AS Roma or SS Lazio play a Serie A football match.
