Last minute travel deals for summer 2009

Can you believe it is August already?  Just because summer 2009 is at its close it doesn’t mean you can’t take part in the season and travel.  It is actually quite the opposite!  With the summer near its end, airlines and hotels are offering some great holiday deals for their customers.  There are also some wonderful package deals for sale this summer.  These last minute sales are a great way to have a memorable holiday at a good price.

Last minute airlines

The airlines are helping those in the credit crunch this summer by discounting their flights.  For example, EasyJet is currently having a summer sale.  At the moment, there are flights starting at £20.99 to some fabulous destinations that can be booked until October 24, 2009.

EasyJet is also holding an end of season sale with over 500,000 seats discounted by £10, which is a 40% markdown.  However, this wonderful sale is only valid till Wednesday the 5th of August at midnight.  With this summer deal you can travel to Paris for £15.99, Ibiza for £14.99, and Prague for £12.99, and many other destinations.  EasyJet’s most expensive flight with this deal is to Marrakech for only £24.99.

Ryanair is also offering a great deal at the moment.  If you book by August 6th at midnight they are offering one million seats starting from just £1!  Some of the destinations that are £1 are Dublin, Pisa, Oslo, and many others.  They are also offering flights for £5 that go to Eindhoven, Salzburg, Venice, and countless others.  If those destinations aren’t of interest to you they are offering flights for £33.17 to more popular destinations like Berlin, Rome, and Madrid.  However, with this current deal you must travel during the months of October and November.

So, you better hurry to book your next trip!

Hotel deals for this summer

Just as airline carriers are discounting their flights, hotels are also offering some great discounts.  Currently, Expedia is featuring ‘hot hotel deals.‘  It is a program that offers hotels at a reduced price.  This deal offers over 100 hotels at a discounted price.  The hotel choices range from Orlando to Oslo and everywhere in between.  There is one draw back though; the hotel choices vary every week.  So, be sure to book the hotel you want as soon as you see it because your choices will most likely be different for the coming week.

Holiday package deals

Not only is Expedia offering some wonderful hotel deals, they are also featuring some great holiday packages.  Their most popular package is one to Majorca starting at the very low price of £283 per person for 7 nights.  Expedia is offering some fantastic last minute sales that are worth looking into.

Expedia isn’t the only one offering some wonderful package deals this summer, Thomson is as well.  Currently, Thomson is offering a sale on package holidays for breaks taking place in the month of August.  With this last minute sale Thomson is offering up to £500 off per couple and on top of that up to 10% off.  One of the deals Thomson is offering is a 7 day holiday to Menorca, Spain for £184 at the Menorca Sea Club.  With that package deal you save £157!  Those are some fantastic savings, but the sale only lasts until Monday at midnight.

Not only is it worth having discounted flights and accommodation but, having affordable tours is also essential.  So, be sure to check out some of our experiences to enrich your next holiday.
